US Approves $1.3 Billion Loan for Pakistan’s Reko Diq Project

ISLAMABAD : The United States has approved a $1.3 billion loan for Pakistan’s Reko Diq mining project, widely regarded as a game-changer for the country’s economy. The approval was granted during a meeting in Washington chaired by the US Secretary of State, where ways to secure the supply of critical minerals were discussed. The loan will be provided by the US Export-Import Bank under former President Donald Trump’s Wall Project framework. Officials say the financing will support the development of the Reko Diq project, strengthen Pakistan’s mining sector, and boost long-term economic growth through foreign investment.
