Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Shah Orders 15-Day Action on Illegal Buildings

Karachi: Sindh Minister for Local Government, Housing and Town Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah chaired a meeting of the Sindh Building Control Authority and ordered officials to complete checks and necessary action against illegal buildings within 15 days. He directed SBCA to introduce daily monitoring, improve its surveillance system and form special demolition teams with support from district administrations and law-enforcement agencies. The minister also ordered improvements in the one-window service for building plans, NOCs and other legal approvals, with SBCA services planned at town level. Officials were asked to strengthen coordination with KDA, the Master Plan Department and other agencies. Suitable temporary accommodation was also proposed for families affected by unsafe buildings. No new budget was announced.
