Sheikhupura: Director General PDMA Punjab Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa visited flood-affected areas of Sheikhupura on the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He reviewed ongoing rescue and relief work and checked the arrangements being made for affected families. The DG directed the district administration and relevant departments to ensure the timely supply of food, clean drinking water, medicines and other basic needs. He also asked officials to remain present in affected areas and continue relief work without delay. A separate disaster-management meeting was informed that rescue and relief operations were already continuing in Sheikhupura with coordination between PDMA and the district administration. The official update did not provide figures for affected people, evacuated families, relief camps, damaged homes or crop losses.
