Saudi Arabia has announced a major gold discovery, identifying an estimated 7.8 million ounces of new gold resources across four locations in the Kingdom, according to the Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maaden). The discovery is the result of extensive drilling carried out under Maaden’s aggressive mineral exploration program aimed at expanding domestic reserves. The newly identified resources are spread across multiple sites and underscore the growing importance of the Central Arabian Gold Region. Officials say the discovery strengthens Saudi Arabia’s long-term mining strategy under Vision 2030 and supports the country’s ambition to position itself as a global mining hub. The findings are also expected to pave the way for further development of gold, copper, and nickel resources across the Kingdom
