Riyadh Launches Digital Innovation District in Push to Join World’s Top 10 Tech Hubs

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has launched the Riyadh Digital Innovation District, a new strategic initiative designed to turn the capital into a major global destination for technology companies, entrepreneurs and specialist talent. The Royal Commission for Riyadh City announced the initiative on August 27, 2026, with the stated ambition of positioning Riyadh among the world’s top 10 technology hubs.

The district will concentrate on six high-growth fields: artificial intelligence and big data, cybersecurity, computing and cloud services, Internet of Things, blockchain, and robotics and unmanned systems. It will provide dedicated business spaces and an enabling environment for global, regional and startup technology companies seeking to establish operations in Riyadh and expand across the Middle East and North Africa.
