Quetta train operations suspended over security concerns

Quetta: Train operations from Quetta to multiple destinations have been suspended indefinitely due to heightened security concerns, according to railway authorities. The suspension affects major passenger services including the Jaffar Express and Bolan Mail, which connect Balochistan with key cities in Punjab and Sindh, including Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Peshawar. Officials said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to protect passengers amid prevailing security risks, while services will resume only after the situation is declared stable. The suspension can disrupt passenger movement, freight activity and regional logistics. For real estate and business, weaker connectivity can affect trade routes, investor confidence and urban economic activity. Will rail services resume soon after security clearance?
