Lahore: Punjab’s Local Government and Community Development Department says its Annual Development Programme for 2026-27 includes 428 schemes with an allocation of Rs115.55 billion. According to a departmental briefing chaired by Local Government Secretary Zaid Bin Maqsood, the portfolio includes 406 ongoing schemes and 22 new projects.
The briefing also highlighted major location-specific spending, including more than Rs55 billion across 20 ongoing heritage-restoration projects in Lahore and around Rs9 billion for 88 schemes under Murree Development Programme Phase-II.
Officials were directed to strengthen monitoring, increase field inspections and make third-party supervision more effective so projects are completed within approved timelines and budgets.
Zaid Bin Maqsood is currently the Punjab LG&CD secretary, and the department officially lists preparation, budgeting and monitoring of its Annual Development Programme among its core responsibilities.
