Punjab launches AI-powered Eid cleanliness system

Muhammad Muzammil Awan : Lahore: Punjab has introduced what it describes as its most advanced and smart cleanliness system for Eidul Azha under the Suthra Punjab Program. For the first time, an AI-based complaint cell is being established to monitor sanitation conditions across the province. The operation will also use AI to track 40,000 vehicles and 176,000 workers. Technology-enabled motorbikes will provide live image capturing and real-time field visibility for quick waste identification, while a new attendance app and physical verification system have also been launched. More waste collection centers and sacrificial waste bags are being provided for public convenience. This initiative can improve urban cleanliness, public health, civic efficiency, and confidence in city management. Will this smart model strengthen Punjab’s urban service delivery?
