Punjab finance minister reviews record tax growth at PRA headquarters

Lahore: Punjab Finance Minister Mian Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman visited the headquarters of the Punjab Revenue Authority where officials briefed him on tax collection performance and institutional reforms. Authorities reported that PRA recorded a historic 75% growth in revenue during February, collecting more than Rs41 billion compared with Rs23.6 billion in the same month last year. Officials attributed the improvement to digitalisation, stronger monitoring systems and enforcement mechanisms introduced by the provincial government. The minister praised the PRA team for the achievement and emphasised expanding the tax net to strengthen provincial finances. He also distributed official vehicles to newly appointed auditors and enforcement officers to improve operational efficiency.
