Punjab approves security funds before Eid and Muharram

Lahore: The 52nd meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Law and Order was held at the Punjab Home Department, chaired by Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique. The committee reviewed security and administrative arrangements before Eidul Azha and Muharram, with briefings on the province’s overall law and order situation. Key decisions included extension in Rangers deployment in Attock and DG Khan, appointment of price control magistrates in different districts and approval of Rs650 million for cricket matches, by-elections, Urs events and other arrangements. The committee also discussed monitoring of banned outfits, cattle market security and district intelligence coordination. Stronger law and order planning can protect markets, public spaces and business activity. Will this improve public safety during major gatherings?
