Punjab Approves Rs. 7.5bn for Development Projects

LAHORE : The Punjab Planning and Development Board has approved development funds worth Rs. 7.5 billion during the 63rd meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party for fiscal year 2025–26. The meeting was chaired by P&D Board Chairman Dr. Naeem Rauf. Approved projects include Rs. 2 billion for improving surgical and allied health departments, over Rs. 3 billion for flood protection bunds along rivers Sutlej and Ravi, Rs. 1.22 billion for design and rehabilitation of link canals, and Rs. 1.1 billion for restoring water-affected agricultural land in the Abbasiya Canal system. The forum also approved capacity enhancement and climate-resilient water management initiatives.
