Punjab Accelerates Road Restoration Work Across the Province

Under the Punjab government’s Road Restoration Programme, construction and rehabilitation work on highways is progressing rapidly across the province. A review meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Communications Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bharth assessed the programme’s progress in several districts, including Sahiwal, Okara and Nankana Sahib. Ongoing projects include the rehabilitation of the 43-kilometre Sahiwal–Old Chichawatni road, the 10-kilometre Syedwala–Jaranwala road, and the Mission Chowk to Kashti Chowk section. In addition, work is actively underway on the 67-kilometre Sahiwal–Arifwala road and the 31-kilometre Okara–Syedwala road. The provincial minister stated that the Highways Department is implementing the programme alongside other initiatives and aims to complete it within the current financial year to provide safer and modern road infrastructure to the public.
