Punjab accelerates housing plots allocation for government employees

Lahore: The Punjab government has accelerated the process of providing residential plots to members of the Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation on the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Officials said a due diligence committee will verify records and legal aspects before acquiring plots from private housing societies. Authorities also directed field inspections of potential sites to ensure transparency and quality standards. In the first phase, around 15,000 members are expected to receive residential plots, while nearly 30 private developers have shown interest in the project. Members will be able to obtain possession after paying 30% of the cost, with the remaining amount payable in easy instalments.
