Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Meets Bill Gates to Expand Health and Development Cooperation

New York: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met Bill Gates, Chairman of the Gates Foundation, and discussed Pakistan’s cooperation with the foundation in polio eradication, maternal and child health, nutrition, vaccination, digitalisation and financial inclusion. The prime minister appreciated the foundation’s long-term support and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eliminating polio. Bill Gates highlighted the importance of ongoing vaccination efforts and cooperation to protect future generations from the disease. The meeting also focused on expanding collaboration in agriculture, biotechnology, research, artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. Both sides discussed possibilities for cooperation in improved seed development, livestock genetic improvement and modern agricultural technologies. The prime minister also invited Bill Gates to visit Pakistan again to further strengthen cooperation in development sectors.
