Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed displeasure over delays in completing the Islamabad Technology Park and directed authorities to accelerate construction and make the facility operational on a priority basis. Chairing a review meeting on reforms at the National Information Technology Board and progress on the project, the prime minister also ordered that the technology park’s operations be completely outsourced. The project is intended to strengthen Pakistan’s technology ecosystem by providing modern infrastructure for IT companies, startups and technology professionals. Faster completion could support digital-sector investment, innovation and employment while expanding Islamabad’s technology infrastructure.
