Lahore: Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Ali Ejaz inspected the under-construction Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research. During the visit, officials briefed him that the project’s first phase had been completed, including MRI suites and outpatient department rooms. The mosque, cafeteria and residential blocks for doctors were also reported as complete. The deputy commissioner examined the MRI facility and OPD areas and reviewed the remaining construction. He directed the relevant departments to accelerate finishing work, maintain construction quality, improve coordination and ensure workers’ safety. The first phase is complete, but construction and finishing work on the overall hospital project are continuing; the full hospital has not yet been confirmed as open or operational. Official project information identifies the facility as the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research, being developed on 333 kanals near Valencia Town and Pine Avenue Road in southwest Lahore. The planned campus includes the main hospital, diagnostic and treatment facilities, a hospice, staff accommodation and other support services. Official health documents describe it as a planned 915-bed facility, but this represents its designed capacity rather than currently available beds
