Peshawar: The six-lane Hazar Khwani Overpass on Peshawar Ring Road is scheduled to be inaugurated on October 3, 2026, according to the latest supplied project update, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi expected to inaugurate it.
The project is part of the Peshawar Revitalisation Plan. Official KP government records confirm that Sohail Afridi laid its foundation stone in June 2026 and that the overpass was being built at an estimated cost of Rs1.257 billion.
The six-lane structure is located at the Hazar Khwani Interchange on Ring Road and is intended to improve traffic flow at one of Peshawar’s busy junctions. Construction was reported to be progressing rapidly in September and had entered its final stages.
However, during the latest web check, I did not find a fresh official KP government announcement independently confirming that the October 3 inauguration ceremony has already taken place. The opening date should therefore be reported as scheduled until the ceremony is officially confirmed.
