Pakistan Plans Nationwide Rollout of 3,000 EV Charging Stations

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s transition toward electric vehicles is moving from policy planning to on-ground execution as authorities plan to roll out 3,000 electric vehicle charging stations across the country. Officials said the nationwide charging network is a critical step to make electric mobility viable at scale and encourage wider EV adoption. The initiative aims to address range anxiety, support private and commercial EV users, and strengthen investor confidence in the electric transport ecosystem. By expanding charging infrastructure, the government seeks to reduce reliance on fossil fuels, lower emissions, and modernize the transport sector. The rollout is expected to support future EV policies, urban mobility plans, and sustainable development goals across major cities and highways.
