Pakistan cement sales jump 11% on strong local demand

Lahore: Pakistan’s cement sector recorded an 11.14% increase in dispatches in April 2026, reaching 3.89 million tons, driven mainly by strong domestic demand. According to APCMA data, local sales surged by over 20%, reflecting increased construction and development activity across the country. However, exports declined by more than 18%, highlighting continued challenges in international markets. Both northern and southern regions showed solid domestic growth, indicating reliance on local consumption. This development under the Real Estate Core Cluster signals rising construction momentum in Pakistan. For Lahore and Punjab, higher cement demand reflects ongoing development projects and increased real estate activity. Will domestic demand continue to support the sector amid export challenges?
