NDMA issues nationwide alert for pre-monsoon rains

Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a nationwide alert for pre-monsoon rains expected from June 28 to July 3. Authorities have warned that heavy rainfall may trigger flash floods, urban flooding, landslides, and windstorms, particularly in low-lying and hilly areas. Provincial administrations and emergency response teams have been asked to remain on high alert and coordinate with local agencies. Citizens living near rivers, streams, and vulnerable terrain are advised to take precautionary measures, secure property, and avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather. Will these early alerts help reduce risks and protect communities?
