Murree Road Upgrade Moves Faster as Punjab Sets October 31 Deadline

Murree: The Punjab government has set October 31, 2026 as the deadline for completing ongoing construction and expansion works on the Rawalpindi-Murree-Kashmir (RMK) Road, according to a briefing on the Murree Development Plan.

Officials said the project includes road construction, expansion and rehabilitation, along with measures aimed at reducing landslide risks. Streetlights, road furniture, roadside shoulders and Tuff-tile footpaths are also being installed along the route.

The deadline was reviewed during a meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and PML-N President Nawaz Sharif. The road works form part of a broader development programme for Murree covering transport, water supply and tourism infrastructure.
