Millat Tractors plans major electric bike plant in Pakistan

Lahore: Millat Tractors is planning a large-scale electric bike production plant in Pakistan as demand for electric mobility continues to grow. The project aims to strengthen local manufacturing, reduce dependence on imported vehicles and support Pakistan’s shift toward cleaner transport solutions. Officials say the plant can create new employment opportunities, support vendor industries and encourage technology transfer in the automobile sector. The move also aligns with long-term clean transport and industrial development goals. For real estate and infrastructure, EV manufacturing can increase demand for industrial land, warehousing, logistics facilities and supplier networks around production zones. Can this project accelerate Pakistan’s electric mobility and manufacturing future?
