Lahore Steps Up Bird Control Near Airport for Safer Flights

Lahore: The district administration has intensified its campaign against bird hazards near Lahore’s airport and cantonment areas to reduce risks to aircraft during take-off and landing.

According to the supplied official OC/VO, the action is being carried out on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Lahore Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Ali Ijaz. Lahore Cantonment Board and Lahore Waste Management Company teams have removed pigeon cages and cleared potential bird-breeding points along Lahore Road and other sensitive locations.

The update says the identified bird-hazard point at Raja Park has been cleared and is now being checked daily to prevent the return of birds. A similar point on Yazdani Road has also been cleared, with LWMC continuing sanitation work there.

The purpose of the campaign is to reduce the risk of bird strikes and keep the approach and departure areas around Lahore’s airport safer for domestic and international flights.
