Lahore: The Metropolitan Corporation Lahore has activated a new digital municipal monitoring system called “Nigran”, aimed at identifying and resolving civic problems through live monitoring and GIS mapping.
According to the supplied official briefing, Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman inaugurated MCL’s newly built control room, while Deputy Commissioner Lahore Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Ali Ijaz briefed officials on the Nigran app and dashboard.
The system covers nine key municipal issues, including open manholes, faulty streetlights, garbage piles, damaged roads, encroachments, stray dogs, illegal banners, sewerage problems and broken slabs. Surveyors identify problems in real time through GIS mapping, while rectification teams are assigned to resolve them and update their status on the dashboard.
The Chief Secretary directed that complaints received through the system be resolved within the prescribed timeframe and said municipal service performance would continue to be monitored live through the new dashboard.
