Lahore: VEDA Transit Solutions, the private company operating Lahore’s Metrobus fleet, has issued a notice warning that it may suspend all Metrobus operations from August 11, 2026, if uninterrupted fuel supply is not arranged. According to a report citing the company’s August 7 letter to the Punjab Masstransit Authority, VEDA said it had already raised the issue through letters on July 31 and August 4. Representatives of VEDA and PMA also met on August 6 to discuss fuel arrangements and implementation of a July 29 court order. The company claims its available financial resources have been exhausted and says continued operations will not be possible without a resolution. Importantly, Metrobus service has not yet been suspended; August 11 is the date mentioned in VEDA’s conditional shutdown notice.
