Lahore: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Muhammad Ali Ijaz, the district administration has intensified action against overloaded goods transport vehicles violating axle load management regulations. The campaign aims to protect road infrastructure worth billions of rupees and reduce accidents caused by overloaded vehicles. During the operation, overloaded trucks are being impounded, excess cargo is being offloaded, and heavy fines are being imposed. According to officials, more than 1,300 vehicles have been fined, with penalties exceeding Rs. 6.2 million. Transporters have been urged to comply with prescribed load limits to ensure safer roads and prolong the lifespan of public infrastructure.
