Lahore begins work on Master Plan 2050

Lahore: Work has started on the preparation of “Master Plan 2050” to align the city with future urban needs and manage long-term population growth in a more organized way. The plan is expected to cover transport, housing systems, environmental protection, water infrastructure, public transport improvement, better roads, greener zones, and smart zoning measures. Officials say the goal is to guide Lahore’s urban expansion on modern lines and improve livability over the coming decades. The initiative is important because long-term master planning directly shapes real estate trends, infrastructure investment, land use regulation, and housing development. A clearer urban roadmap can also strengthen investor confidence and public service planning. Can Master Plan 2050 redefine Lahore’s future growth model?
