Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has become the first province in Pakistan to launch a unified 911 emergency helpline. The new service allows citizens to contact multiple emergency services — including police, Rescue 1122, domestic violence support, tourist assistance, and disaster management — through a single number available 24/7. Trial operations began in March 2026, and by mid-June, the helpline had already received over 4.7 million calls, though many were reported as prank or non-emergency calls.
