Karachi is set for a major infrastructure upgrade with the planned construction of the Azeempura Flyover, a fully signal-free corridor connecting Shahrah-e-Bhutto to Jinnah International Airport. Initiated by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) on the special directives of Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab, the project aims to reduce travel time, improve traffic flow, and enhance commuter safety along the city’s eastern corridor.Valued at Rs 1.477 billion, the project includes road widening, drainage improvements, electrification, and rehabilitation of key intersections. Contractors have been invited to submit bids under SPPRA guidelines, ensuring transparency and quality execution. Officials said the flyover will significantly ease congestion and strengthen connectivity to the airport.
