Karachi Launches Major Roads, Flyovers, and Sewerage Upgrades

Karachi’s development drive continues as the city mayor inaugurated major infrastructure projects in Block F, North Nazimabad (Central District), including internal roads, sewerage systems, and stormwater drains.The mayor said the initiatives reflect the PPP’s commitment to improving daily life for citizens, emphasizing responsible use of public funds and tangible development outcomes. He recalled past promises of citywide uplift and criticized previous administrations for neglecting public needs.Key projects include PKR 100 million internal road works in North Nazimabad, a four-lane bridge at Korangi Ibrahim Hyderi to improve access to Indus Hospital (due January 2025), an underpass at Shahrah-e-Bhutto by February, and several flyovers at Murghi Khana, near the Export Processing Zone, and Mena Bazaar.The mayor assured strict auditing, quality standards, and action against illegal encroachments, reaffirming a transparent, citizen-focused development agenda.
