FBR officers complete first LUMS postgraduate diploma in landmark training milestone

Islamabad: In a first for the Federal Board of Revenue, in-training officers of the Inland Revenue Service and Customs have completed a Post Graduate Diploma from LUMS, marking an important step in professional capacity building. Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb attended the closing and certificate award ceremony as chief guest, while FBR Chairman Rashid Langrial was also present. The initiative reflects a stronger focus on modern training, tax administration, governance, and institutional reform within Pakistan’s revenue system. Improved officer training can support better tax collection, transparent enforcement, business facilitation, and public trust in revenue institutions. Can such professional training help modernize Pakistan’s tax system?
