ECNEC Approves 34.5MW Harpo Hydropower Project in Gilgit-Baltistan

GILGIT-BALTISTAN: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved the 34.5 megawatt Harpo Hydropower Project to strengthen energy supply in the region. The project aims to promote sustainable and renewable power generation while reducing reliance on expensive fuel-based electricity. Officials stated that the hydropower plant will help stabilize power availability and lower energy costs. Energy experts believe the project will also support local economic growth by creating employment opportunities and encouraging development in Gilgit-Baltistan.
