Dubai: One of Dubai’s most recognisable landmarks, the Museum of the Future, will temporarily close from September 1, 2026, as work begins on what it calls its “next generation of experiences.” The latest closure date was announced through the museum’s official social-media channels on August 25, with visitors encouraged to experience the current exhibitions before the temporary shutdown.
The overhaul is expected to replace the museum’s major existing experiences with new interactive and immersive exhibitions exploring science, technology and social change. More than 1,000 ideas and suggestions from people around the world have been considered while developing the next phase.
The refreshed museum is planned to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2027, around its fifth anniversary.
