Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed the conversion of Al Satwa Roundabout into a traffic signal-controlled intersection, reducing journey times by 50%. The project also includes road and infrastructure improvements designed to ease congestion and improve road safety.
According to RTA, waiting times and traffic queues have been reduced by up to 60% during peak hours. The upgraded intersection improves traffic flow along 2nd December Street towards the Trade Centre and Al Satwa, while making bus movement and access to public transport easier.
The new intersection also improves connectivity to Sheikh Zayed Road and nearby areas, including Al Bada’a, Al Jafiliya, Al Hudaiba and Jumeirah. The upgrade is part of Dubai’s wider road improvement programme, aimed at reducing congestion and making daily travel smoother.
