Dubai Launches Autonomous RT6 Taxis on Public Roads

Dubai: Dubai has launched autonomous RT6 taxis as part of its smart mobility and future transport strategy. The self-driving taxis are being introduced on selected routes to enhance road safety, reduce traffic congestion, and improve passenger convenience. Officials stated that the initiative aligns with Dubai’s long-term goal of converting a significant share of daily trips to autonomous transport. Equipped with advanced sensors, AI navigation systems, and real-time monitoring, the RT6 taxis mark a major step toward next-generation urban mobility. Authorities said further expansion will follow after performance evaluation and regulatory assessments, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global leader in smart city transportation.
