Abu Dhabi: Cosmo Developments has officially launched THE WADI, a major mixed-use residential project on Yas Island, with an estimated investment of AED 6 billion. Cosmo Developments is a joint venture between Abu Dhabi-based Flag Holding Group and Reportage Group, with Reportage overseeing development, delivery and long-term management. WAM

The project is planned on approximately 140,700 square metres along Yas Canal and will include around 3,950 residential units. Official launch information lists studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, alongside commercial, recreational and sports facilities, with a hotel also planned within the master plan. WAM

THE WADI is being designed as a nature-led waterfront community, incorporating landscaped areas, water features, pedestrian and cycling routes and a marina. Developer details reported by Khaleej Times indicate that parking and vehicle movement are planned largely underground, while a roughly 6-kilometre running route is planned above ground to create a more pedestrian-focused environment. Sales began around the project launch, while physical construction is not yet being presented as completed or operational. Khaleej Times reports that the first construction phase is expected to begin after an initial preparatory period, with the overall development planned in phases. Khaleej Times

Important correction for the supplied graphic: THE WADI is in Abu Dhabi on Yas Island — not Dubai. The “Dubai” label visible in the reference image is therefore incorrect for this story.
