Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on the sidelines of the Ministerial Meeting on Jerusalem. The two leaders welcomed the growing momentum in Pakistan-Jordan relations and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in political, defence, economic, educational, cultural and people-to-people fields. They discussed the worsening situation in the Occupied West Bank, while Ishaq Dar appreciated Jordan’s role in protecting Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and supporting the Palestinian people. The ministers also exchanged views on developments involving Iran and the United States, stressing dialogue and diplomacy for regional de-escalation and closer coordination through the United Nations and OIC.
