Dense Fog Disrupts Punjab Traffic — Multiple Motorways Shut Down

Dense fog has gripped several cities across Punjab, causing major disruptions to traffic and forcing the closure of multiple motorways. According to the Motorway Police, the Lahore–Sialkot Motorway (M-11) has been shut down due to extremely low visibility, while the M-2 has been closed from Lahore to Hiran Minar. Visibility on national highways has also dropped significantly, making travel difficult and risky for drivers. Officials stated that motorway closures are aimed at protecting lives and preventing accidents, especially since lane violations in foggy conditions can be fatal. Citizens have been advised to travel during daytime hours — between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. — use fog lights, avoid unnecessary travel, maintain safe speeds, and keep adequate distance from other vehicles. For assistance, motorists can contact helpline 130.
