China Explores Joining $74 Billion Reko Diq Copper-Gold Project in Pakistan

Islamabad: Pakistan is considering the participation of Chinese companies in the massive Reko Diq copper and gold project in Balochistan. The matter was discussed in recent meetings between Pakistani officials and Barrick Gold. The $74 billion project is one of the largest mining ventures in the country, with commercial production expected by the end of 2028. Officials aim to reduce costs, improve security, and speed up development through potential Chinese involvement.
