Abbottabad Police Starts Free QR Registration for Taxi Drivers

Abbottabad: Abbottabad Police has launched a free registration campaign through the Pehchaan mobile app for taxi, online ride-hailing and other eligible transport drivers. Each registered driver will receive a unique QR code that passengers and law-enforcement officials can scan to verify the driver and vehicle before a journey. Police said drivers can complete registration by contacting their local traffic wardens or visiting a designated Pehchaan Desk, where staff will provide guidance. The initiative is intended to improve passenger safety, strengthen public confidence in local transport services and establish a technology-based verification system. The Pehchaan app was developed with the support of COMSATS University Islamabad’s Abbottabad Campus and Abbottabad Police.
