PU VC Takes Action Over Illegal Tree Cutting at Islamic Center

An incident of illegal tree cutting has surfaced at the Islamic Center of Punjab University, prompting Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Ali to take immediate notice. Expressing strong concern, the VC termed the cutting of dozens of trees as unacceptable and ordered action against those responsible. Due to negligence, the institute’s director has been suspended, while steps have also been announced to compensate for environmental damage through fresh plantation. The vice chancellor emphasized that Punjab University is an autonomous institution with its own governance system and that unauthorized interference at the administrative level led to the incident. He made it clear that tree cutting on the main campus is strictly prohibited and that environmental protection will be ensured through strict measures and continued accountability.
