Karachi: Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab has announced the rehabilitation of 139 roads at a cost of Rs. 14 billion, calling it a major step toward safer, smoother, and better-connected city streets. Under the plan, road repair and improvement work will be carried out across different areas of Karachi to ease traffic flow and improve daily commuting. Officials also said 41 roads will receive modern street lighting, which can help improve visibility, road safety, and public convenience at night. Better roads and lighting directly support business activity, property access, commercial movement, and neighborhood value. Can this major infrastructure push improve Karachi’s urban mobility and civic image?
