Boeing, PIA discuss 16 new aircraft purchase options

Washington: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Boeing Company’s headquarters along with a delegation of PIA’s new management, where he met Boeing Global President Brendan Nelson. During the meeting, both sides discussed important progress regarding the purchase of 16 new aircraft for Pakistan International Airlines. Various suitable options for acquiring the aircraft were reviewed, and both sides agreed to move toward finalizing the best possible deal at the earliest. Mohsin Naqvi appreciated Boeing’s key role in the aircraft manufacturing industry and thanked the company’s leadership for assuring cooperation in PIA’s fleet expansion. A stronger national airline can support travel, tourism, business connectivity, and investment confidence. Can this deal help revive PIA’s global operations?
