Sharjah Announces Major Utility Relief Package to Support Tourism Businesses

Sharjah: The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority has introduced a new package of incentives and facilities aimed at supporting tourism establishments and improving the sector’s financial sustainability. The measures are designed to reduce short-term financial pressure on tourism businesses while strengthening Sharjah’s competitiveness as a tourism destination.

Under the package, tourism establishments will receive an additional one-month extension to pay utility bills and can opt to settle consumption bills through instalment plans. Penalties related to service disconnection will also be waived for three months. For new utility accounts, security deposits can be paid in four instalments, while tourism establishments will receive a three-month exemption from plan approval fees.

The initiative is intended to create greater financial flexibility for tourism businesses, encourage investment and support sustainable growth in Sharjah’s hospitality and tourism sector. SEWA is the emirate’s government utility authority responsible for electricity, water and gas services.
