Punjab Launches “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” Program for Landless Farmers

Punjab has launched the “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” initiative, granting 4 acres of state-owned farmland to 30,000 landless families on a symbolic lease of Rs. 100 per year. The program also provides Rs. 200,000 financial assistance per family to kickstart agricultural activities. Covering a total of 121,000 acres, the scheme aims to empower deserving farmers, improve rural livelihoods, and strengthen provincial agriculture. Selection was fully merit-based, and allotment letters will be issued within a week, with land possession expected by July 31. Officials emphasize that the initiative ensures both financial support and sustainable farming opportunities for beneficiaries.
