Karachi Port Climbs 30 Spots in Global Container Rankings

Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has significantly improved its global standing in the Container Port Performance Index (CPPI), climbing 30 places to 69th worldwide. This progress reflects enhanced operational efficiency, productivity, and handling capacity. The port’s CPPI score improved from 30 to 45.7. Officials aim to reach the top 50 container ports by 2027, strengthening Pakistan’s maritime sector, facilitating smoother trade, and boosting the country’s role in global shipping networks.
