The multi-billion-rupee National Police Hospital in Islamabad has been shelved at the final stage due to escalating costs and planning issues. Initially designed as a 250-bed facility with emergency, cardiology, orthopaedics, surgery, neurology, ICUs, physiotherapy, and a nursing hostel, the project faced budget overruns. Construction was nearly complete, but additional funding was not released. Authorities are considering repurposing the structure for alternative use. This halt underscores challenges in large-scale infrastructure projects amid financial constraints.
