Islamabad: The Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) has begun a comprehensive modernization and restructuring process to align with international standards and improve effectiveness. The initiative includes collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences to enhance research infrastructure, methodologies, and scientific capacity. The overhaul focuses on prioritizing research areas, upgrading laboratories and facilities, and improving scientists’ capabilities. Joint projects may also address crop yield improvement, climate resilience, and food security. Experts say the partnership will provide Pakistan access to advanced agricultural technologies, smart farming methods, and disease-resistant crop varieties. The initiative is expected to strengthen research quality, increase farmer productivity, boost agricultural exports, and support the national economy.
