Punjab approves Rs 87 billion for development and transport projects

Lahore: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved development projects worth Rs 87 billion in its 70th meeting chaired by Chairman P&D Board Dr. Naeem Rauf. Officials stated that Rs 39 billion has been allocated for local government schemes, while Rs 41 billion will be used for public transport projects across multiple divisions. Authorities highlighted that funds will support road construction, sewerage, drainage, and urban infrastructure in various districts, along with the development of bus depots, shelters and transport facilities. Additional approvals include agricultural mechanization and strategic planning initiatives. Experts believe that these large-scale investments will significantly improve infrastructure, mobility and overall urban development across Punjab.
