Lahore Railway Station restoration approved, heritage to be preserved

Lahore: Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi and Senior Minister Punjab Maryam Aurangzeb visited Lahore Railway Station and agreed to restore the historic site to its original classical condition. Officials stated that the heritage structure will be preserved while upgrading facilities under directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The visit was attended by Secretary Archaeology Punjab and DG LDA, where plans for restoration and development were discussed. Authorities also announced the revival of nine railway routes across Punjab and plantation of forests along railway tracks to improve the environment. The initiative aims to enhance transport infrastructure, protect historical identity, and promote sustainable urban development in the province.
